I've been photographing Chicago kids for over sixteen years, and the images people end up loving most are never the posed ones.

The Details.
SESSION
Arrive on time for your 10-minute session with Michele, where we get to the real stuff, the laughs, the faces, the personality. Both color and black and white are captured for every session.
DELIVERY
Your images will be professionally edited and delivered to a private online gallery within one week.
Browse on your own time, no rushing through choices in the studio.
BOOKING
Reserve your spot online. You'll get a confirmation and what-to-wear info.
ENJOY
Share and enjoy your images. We highly encourage you to print them, they're meant to be seen every day, not buried in a camera roll. If you ordered wall art or an album, it'll be ready for pickup within 3–4 weeks.
Investment
Sessions are ten minutes each, one kid at a time, right here at my Lakeview studio. Every session includes both color and black and white, so you get the classic look and the timeless one. Bringing more than one kid? Book back-to-back spots and I'll grab sibling shots too.
Reserving your spot is $150, which includes a $100 credit toward anything you order from your gallery. Digital sets begin at $250, desk & wall art begins at $375, and albums begin at $695.
FAQ
We recommend simple, classic clothing in mid tone colors. Solid colors are best. Our sessions originally were only black and white but we do offer the color versions as well. I would think about how you want to enjoy the images -- you want to make sure it looks right in the space. Texture always photographs well, but avoid pattern for these sessions to keep the focus on your child’s face. PLEASE avoid logos and cartoon characters. Our favorite places to shop for kids clothing are Janie and Jack, GAP kids, Nordstrom, Zara, and H&M.
While the focus of these sessions is on individual personality shots, when you book back-to-back spots, we'll have plenty of time to grab sibling photos too.
We love pets, and kids love pets too. Pets can bring out the best expressions in your kids and we highly encourage it. That said, some pets can be distracting or hard to manage in the studio, so if you'd like to bring yours, call ahead so we can go over a few things and make sure it's the right fit for your family.
Really, any age works. We've photographed babies all the way up to grown adult "kids." We recommend babies be at least 6 months and confident sitters, meaning they can sit on their own without support.
Simply Kids sessions are reserved for individual portraits. If you'd like a family session instead, I'd love to arrange that for you.
